No drama and some lovely group riding from my group, just some good conversation on the quiet lanes, oh and "we were here first" 😄 I hear Maxine caused a bit of a commotion in the other group, not totally sure what went on there, all I know is they're a bunch of rule breakers 😉

Two groups went on a hilly ride to Stretton Cafe

Interesting ride out today going out to cafe stop was fine however after cafe became a nightmare. Trying out some new bridleways that turned out to be very overgrown and obviously not used for years!! 3 punctures later we decided to abandon remainder of route and go back via road. A further puncture for me on Wirksworth road and we all made our own way home. Better luck next time 🤞 Other than that it was good to see Ian and Richard out and as usual good company on the ride.

14 riders out tonight taking on the Summer Special challenge in wet conditions. We started in 2 groups but that soon splintered into multiple groups with the last group arriving back in Belper at 9.20! The final total was 28 miles and 3400 ft of climbing. See you all next year.

Shenington 24 Hour BFPCR Pedalcar Race…definitely the best racing experience that I’ve had in years 😂. 25 Teams on a very twisty and fast Kart track…what could possibly go wrong…nobody brakes for the fast chicanes or hairpins…absolutely brilliant. An early start for Caroline, Jane and Margaret. We used the original Belles route and made up our own refreshment stops. Coffee at Millie’s which was also a Campsite. Decent fish finger sandwich and chips at The Crown Pub, Old Dalby. Good early start with Gareth & John G. Adapted last years route to include some more off-road which in some places was a bit draggier than expected, but it kept us off the roads.
