by Belper BC 6 riders completed Cycling UKs newest route in Dumfries and Galloway over the last week ranging between 4 and 6 days, using campsites and wild camping. The weather was better than expected mainly raining at night. The route is a good mix of tarmac, gravel and forest tracks with a possibility of enjoying the 7 stains MTB trail centres. Being a dark skies area the night time sky can be lit up by the millions of stars ... Unfortunately it was too cloudy! #belperbc

Tonight 13 riders out in 2 groups taking on the lovely climb all the way up to Alport Heights. Apologies for completely forgetting to take a picture of the first group at the a triangle but fortunately I caught up with them at the Holly Bush. Drama free ride tonight and that’s the way we like it.

Supported by Belper BC Sunday 16 August saw 110+ riders assemble at Mercian Cycles new factory & HQ in Little Eaton, Derby, for a staggered start in small groups of 6 to 8 riders, in each of the four Festival rides; the Bill Betton Memorial & Jeff Bowler Road Rides, plus the Crowbar & Ventura Gravel Rides. Excellent social ride out to Spokes Cafe on Jubilee Campus which is on the site of former Raleigh factory. Early start to avoid the heat and a few new trails ridden. Great company as usual.
