Fantastic day out on Gravelton’s Sherwood Shakedown gravel ride. Total of 9 riders with 2 on the short loop and 7 on the longer route. Great mix of forest trails, sandy sections, loose gravel with short road segments to piece it all together. Welcome stop at Creswell Crags visitor centre with huge cobs to keep us sustained for the remainder of the ride. One group of 9 took the short but perfectly formed route over to Castlefield cafe at Straws Bridge. One returning and one new rider out with the group today. Lovely refreshments then back through Shipley Park dodging the showers and back in Belper just before noon.

3 Belper BC riders, Richard, Dawn and Cat took part in the 34th Dunwich Dynamo with 3000+ other riders. The Dunwich Dynamo is a famous, annual, 112-mile (180 km) overnight bicycle ride from London Fields in Hackney to the beach in Dunwich, Suffolk. It is a free, unsupported "turn-up-and-ride" event held on the Saturday night closest to July's full moon. #belperbc #dunwichdynamo

Perfect day for a social group of 5 gravel ride, av. 23degC. Nice to see Dave M out, carrying an injury but going well👍 Sheltered outbound, with a bit of a headwind back NW 14-19kph…but nice surfaced trails and cycleways to up the pace 😅

Eleven out tonight on a, sun-dappled calf-stretching ride along Long Way Bank, Drum Hill, and other lumpy bits splitting into 2 groups. Doug forced out by a gash in tubeless tyre, Steve and Martin in competitive mode, otherwise incident-free and pleasant ride!

Eleven riders split over two groups on today’s Sunday social ride, some welcome cloud cover and a nice breeze made for decent riding conditions. Great to catch-up with friends and meet some new riders (well several new to me). Nice cafe stop at the Potting shed near Markeaton Park. A little re-route via Quarndon on the final leg due to the bridge closure in Darley Abbey. See you again soon!
