Great 3 up road ride to Ticknall today. Good deed for the day done by rescuing 2 shrews from the gutter on Wood Lane Horsley. Excellent breakfast cobs (recommended) at Ticknall Village Cafe which has now re opened. 2 nd cafe stop in Little Eaton to ensure fluids were well topped up. This ride was organised on the club's WhatsApp group. #belperbc

14 of us out tonight in 2 groups on the rather lumpy Carsington loop. The fast group had some navigational difficulties and the sun seemed to come out just as we were climbing the longest hill of the night making a sticky night hot and sticky. Peter lost a bottle on a descent attempting to recreate the bouncing bomb and apparently Nicks new shorts don’t have enough padding… Then 13 of us back to The Grapes for carbs and beer. Fantastic day out on Gravelton’s Sherwood Shakedown gravel ride. Total of 9 riders with 2 on the short loop and 7 on the longer route. Great mix of forest trails, sandy sections, loose gravel with short road segments to piece it all together. Welcome stop at Creswell Crags visitor centre with huge cobs to keep us sustained for the remainder of the ride. Faster on return from Creswell with easier gravel sections and seemed to be mostly downhill. Missed the rain with only a cou

One group of 9 took the short but perfectly formed route over to Castlefield cafe at Straws Bridge. One returning and one new rider out with the group today. Lovely refreshments then back through Shipley Park dodging the showers and back in Belper just before noon.

3 Belper BC riders, Richard, Dawn and Cat took part in the 34th Dunwich Dynamo with 3000+ other riders. The Dunwich Dynamo is a famous, annual, 112-mile (180 km) overnight bicycle ride from London Fields in Hackney to the beach in Dunwich, Suffolk. It is a free, unsupported "turn-up-and-ride" event held on the Saturday night closest to July's full moon. #belperbc #dunwichdynamo
