Where the hell are we?

Having never been on today’s ride, I was unsure what to expect. Looking at the route, I noticed that it passed over many other roads I’ve been on, including some unknown ones. I was not the only one to be unsure of the exact location of our group at times and where in Derbyshire we exactly were, but all the lanes we went through were pleasant, and being off the main roads, we often rode two abreast with ease and contentment.

The café stop was interesting, and I’m sure somewhere along the lines someone has said that booking was advisable, but we’re BelperBC, so we’re not that organised. Having turned up, it seemed to be one of their busiest times, and we had a bit of a wait for food and drink. However, it was more comical that those who arrived and placed orders last ended up having their food and drinks first. Although I benefited from this, others became increasingly anxious as they felt a little left out. After the last drinks were drunk we set off again on the many strange and different routes and as before with staying off the main roads for most of the riding we stayed two breast with every now and again moving aside for an oncoming car or in some cases tractor, but all in all it was pleasant.

A deceiving ride, to be honest, with less attitude gained than the past few weeks, but for some reason, the hills encountered were sharp and long. Although less than 1000m were climbed in total, it felt like a lot more, and as the ride went on, more matches were burnt, and more were in the box.

Great route, great ride and a great day out as we approached the end of the warm season chapeau to all #NoOneLeftBehind
