A super ride out in Spring sunshine (although it was a little chilly first thing). It was lovely to see Cat back on her bike at the Triangle. Seven riders set off and the group largely stuck together on quite a lumpy route out to the cafe. Everyone just about managed to avoid the potholes which are seemingly getting worse. There were plenty of smiles and banter as people looked forward to the welcome at the cafe. The Ramblers Retreat did us proud as some people chose savoury, some sweet and as their was Malteser Tiffin on offer one rider opted for two courses. There was plenty of time to ride it off on the way home. After interesting discussions about some past rides including the fondly memorable Shropshire National Trust BBQ ride story we headed back towards home. The increasingly tiring group worked well to keep everyone together on the return leg which had some lovely descents and faster sections. Thanks everyone for a top ride out and regrouping as and when needed. 🚴🙏🔆😎

It’s routes like this that remind you why we spend so much time on a few triangles and two hoops. Stunning scenery, variation of terrain and all the climbing loaded into the pre café half of the ride making for a steady and enjoyable run back into Derbyshire on tired legs. #14 is #1 in my charts for the foreseeable.
Great ride today, everyone, It's really good to get out in some reasonable weather and enjoy great cycling companionship. Great social at the cafe, as Andy said, with a double scoff for some. Empty plates and cups were all that remained.
