Saturday riders go to Hardwick

20 or so riders nicely split into 2 groups for a great route to Hardwick on a glorious day with a nicely timed meet-up at the cafe. Unfortunately on the way back, Rob from the second group came off on a corner (we suspect a pothole caused it) which resulted in a trip to hospital with a fractured shoulder. Best wishes Rob on your recovery!

We were very grateful for the help from 2 car drivers who stopped, one being a nurse who took Rob to hospital (we weren’t going to wait 6 hours for the ambulance) and a local man who was kind on taking Robs bike to his house for safe keeping. For the rest of us in the group it was a sombre ride back to Belper reflecting on what had just happened.
