Nine go to Carsington

Nine riders assembled at the Triangle at 9am and headed off to Carsington with 3 in the experienced group and 6 in the inters.

Initially the weather was a little colder and damper than expected but the showers passed and it brightened up.

The inters route followed the same basic route as the advanced route but missed out a few of the loops and hills which meant that we were overtaken by the advanced group on the outskirts of Ashbourne.

We had been given a tip to try the Cafe at the Sailing Club at Carsington which we were all set to try but unfortunately thier card machine was out of commission and we could only muster £25 cash between the 6 of us so we headed to the Visitor Centre upstairs cafe instead where we met the advanced group using the downstairs cafe. I’ll definitely be trying the Sailing club on another ride.

Then a short ride back to Belper and home for just after 1pm.

All in all a great challenging and hilly ride with great company.
