A small but determined group took on the new route to Denstone in remarkably mild conditions and with minimal traffic. The outbound route was made more difficult by the inclines and the strong headwind but the bunch was kept together expertly with the ride leader doing most of the work on the front. The café stop was brief (it was closed) and the return was much swifter with the group benefiting from the flatter terrain and the tailwind. Upon returning to Belper everyone went their separate ways but not before being treated to the splendid sight of a steam train at Duffield.
