I see your route includes the bridge at Darley Park, across the weir at West Mill. My understanding is that this is closed to all, including cyclists. There is a solution however. Before the closed bridge, turn right and follow the all purpose track through Darley park to the Derby Rowing Club. Cross the bridge here and rejoin the main Alfreton road through Chester Green or turn onto the cycle way directly left after the bridge (or City Road) that brings you out at the rugby club next to the Mill. Adds very little distance and is flat. Not sure of plans in our house this week, but if free I may be brought in as a domestique an…
