These rides are held every Sunday throughout the year and are a great way to 'dip your cycling toe' into Belper Bicycle Club.

If the answer is yes to one or more of the above, Sunday Social rides may be what you're looking for. After a ride out with us, we could signpost you to what we offer that may suit you best. These rides have a club member nominated as the 'ride lead' whenever possible.
Rides are paced at the slower riders level of ability and no one is left behind. Should numbers attending be large, smaller ability / experience groups may be formed supported by an experienced rider. Please arrive 15 mins before the start time. There will be single route with a café stop and the route details will be published in the club events calendar.
NOTE FOR NEW RIDERS
If you are a new member or interested in joining the club, (or 'finding your legs' after a break), Sunday Socials are a great way to tip your toe in the water. No stipulations other than to have a serviceable/safe bike, some cycling road awareness/experience, a helmet and a smile. (Road bikes are better suited for club rides of this nature).
If this is your first ride, introduce yourself and we will make sure you are welcomed with open arms.
Tuesday Social

Saturday Social
Start Time: 9:00 AM
Start Location: The Triangle, Belper
Route Distance: 45-60 miles
Frequency: Weekly throughout the year
These rides are held every Saturday throughout the year and the event and route details will be published in the club events calendar. The routes are all on road and use country lanes where possible. The recommendation is to use a road bike for these routes. Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time so that riders can choose the group they want to ride in. There will be 2 routes available (Long and Short) but both are deigned to meet at the café stop half way around. The following are examples of the speeds each group will maintain on the flat section of the road:

Group 1 - 18mph+

Group 2 - 16-18mph

Group 3 - 14-16mph
The more experienced members of each group will ensure the group stays together and will that all riders wait at the top of hills for others to catch-up and have a short rest.

Zwift Indoor Cycling
Start Time: 6:30PM
Start Location: Indoor
Route Distance: 20-30 miles
Frequency: Tuesdays and Thursdays during Winter
These are virtual rides held in Zwift during the winter evenings and our recommendation is to use a smart trainer. The rides are held on various courses but all have the keep together function so riders of all abilities can ride together. These rides are noted for group chat function and the diverse range of subjects discussed

To enhance the experience, we encourage all riders to use 'Discord' so we can all chat or listen whilst riding.
On some Tuesdays. Team Time Trials are organised, so keep an eye out for these in the club events calendar.
